Residents of Antioch, Illinois, and the surrounding communities have come to know Floral Acres Florist and Greenhouse as the area’s preeminent business for all things related to flowers, gardening gifts, and plants. We count our blessings and take pride in the fact that we’ve been able to create a family owned and operated business that caters to our passion - surrounding ourselves with flowers and plants.

Some flower shops may stock and sell a few plants. But we weren’t willing to settle for being a business that sells a little of this and a little of that. That’s why we became a greenhouse flower shop. As a greenhouse florist, we don’t have to limit our inventory in either our flower shop or our greenhouse. We’re very proud of the business we built, and we’re committed to offering our customers a variety of plants and flowers. But the quality of our merchandise is just as crucial as the size of our inventory.

Seasonal Offerings

All Year

Throughout the year, you can count on us to have a broad selection of eye-catching cactus, succulent, green, flowering and assorted houseplants. Our potted plants are ideal gifts to give to people for virtually any occasion. But they also make an excellent decorative addition to your home or business - and they’ll improve the moods of everyone inside your workplace or residence, and help them focus and concentrate.

Springtime

During the Spring, we pull out all of our stops. We open up all of our greenhouses to allow customers to stroll through the aisles to see what we have. You’ll find a variety of colorful geraniums, long-time favorite and less familiar annual and perennial bedding plants, vegetable plants for your vegetable garden, and lots of decorative planters. We also carry deck and patio plants, dish gardens to place on tables in the entertaining and dining areas on your deck or patio.

Easter

Throughout the Easter season, we have an assortment of beautiful potted Easter lily plants that you can use to add a festive decorative touch to your home or workplace or place outside on your front porch, deck, or patio - when the weather is warm. And you’ll be able to continue to enjoy your Easter Lily if you plant it in your yard after the holiday. Remove the flowers but not the stem, and dig a six-inch hole in the ground to place it in. Cut the stem down after it dies down in the fall. Once the soil freezes, cover your Easter lily bulbs with a thick layer of mulch to protect it over the winter.

Fall

Chrysanthemums are the quintessential fall flower. So it’s fitting that we carry them in an array of spectacular autumnal colors that evoke the harvest. If you’re looking for a way to add some fall color to different areas around your property, we’re confident that our autumn-colored mums will accomplish your goal. You can also enhance other areas of your property such as your front porch, back deck, patio, or around your fire pit. Or infuse your home or business with the spirit of the harvest with the natural earth colors of our fall Chrysanthemums.

Christmas

In preparation for the Christmas season, we grow our Poinsettias, and we fill our greenhouse with beautiful red, white, and bi-colored Poinsettias. If you’re looking for a host or hostess gift to take to a holiday party, a Poinsettia plant is an excellent choice. In areas throughout your home and business where you can’t or don’t want to put up a Christmas tree, our colorful Poinsettias add the decorative touch that captures the spirit of the season - and brightens the area where you place it.

Fairy Garden Classes

Fairy gardens are fun to create, and adults and children can bond over the delight they get in watching them grow. If you want to make a fairy garden to give someone as a gift, stop by the greenhouse, and we’ll walk you through the process of creating one or show you how to make one so you can put it together later at home. If you’d like to bring a group - whether as a family outing, a unique activity for grandparents and grandchildren, or some extra special birthday fun, call us to schedule a fairy garden class.
